Polarizing beam splitter (PBS)

A polarizing beamsplitter is an optical component that splits light into S and P polarized light.
There are two types: a plate type with a parallel plane substrate and a cube type with a rectangular prism bonded together. We will respond to both types of requests.
They are mainly used in industrial equipment such as optical pickups for reading CD/DVD, measuring instruments, and surveying instruments.

Advantages of plate beamsplitters:

Because of the plate can be made larger, it can be mounted on large equipment.
Since there is no return of light, there is no need to consider stray light.
Cheaper than cube type
Since the incident medium is air, it is durable against high-power lasers.

Disadvantages of plate beamsplitters:

The high frequency of adjustment, because the optical path of the output light is deviated from the incident light.
Since the thin film is in contact with the atmosphere, it is more susceptible to deterioration than the cube type.
The optical path deviates greatly from the incident optical axis due to the refractive index of the substrate.
The separation width of p-polarized light and s-polarized light is nallow.
